Why Small Groups?
What happens in a Small Group?
Gather around Christ.
Our groups are centered on Jesus. We seek to know him, follow him, and help one another grow as his disciples.
Open your home and your life.
Hospitality is more than having people over for dinner. It’s making room for others. Groups are places where we share meals, stories, struggles, celebrations, and everyday life.
Talk about God's Word.
Our groups discuss and apply the previous Sunday's sermon. Rather than simply listening to a sermon and moving on, we take time to ask, “What is God saying to us? How should this change the way we live?”
Live out the “one anothers.”
The Bible calls us to “encourage one another,” “pray for one another,” “bear one another’s
burdens,” “forgive one another,” and “love one another.” Small Groups give us a place to actually practice these things.
A Biblical Picture
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” (Acts 2:42)
This is the kind of community we're pursuing.
Not simply people who meet in the same room, but people who follow Jesus together—learning his Word, sharing life, opening their homes, praying for one another, carrying one another's burdens, and becoming more like Christ.
